It’s not green – or well, partly – but it is one of our ultimate favourites: pampas grass! It is impossible to imagine the interior of many a mom-blogger without pampas grass, but they also look great outdoors. How do you prune those luscious plumes? We are happy to give you a hand. Leggo!
What do you need for pruning pampas grass?
You only need a few things to do this job, namely an electric pruning shear and gloves. The latter is important as the leaves can be quite sharp. A hedge trimmer instead of pruning shears is also sometimes a good idea, because if your pampas grass looks more like a jungle, you might want to use a bit more power.
How do you prune Pampas grass?
You cut the Pampas grass about 25 centimetres above the ground. That is a lot if you have a large bunch, but it is the best thing for your plant. This way you make sure it does not dry out and it does not droop and that new stems start growing.
